Blogpost 5: Anxiety vs. Stress

Everyone experiences stress and anxiety at one time or another. The differences between them is that stree is a response to a threat in a situation. Anxiety is a reaction to the stress. Stress can come from any event or thought that makes you feel frustrated, angry or nervous. Anxiety is a feeling of fear, unease and worry. The source of these symptoms is not always known. You may have a harder time focusing, feel tired most of the time or lose your temper more often. Stress and anxiety may also cause sexual problems. I can also cause problems with falling or staying asleep and nightmares.

I have read an article entitled Anxiety different to Stress written by Justin Tranz from the website Health Status. In this article it talks about the difference of anxiety to stress and common to them and how it affects the people. It talks also here how people adopt or get this disorders or problems.

"Symptoms of anxiety and stress are driven by the same chemical reaction; stress is a normal response to a threatening situation and anxiety is largely caused by worry. ‘Anxiety’ and ‘stress’ are just two different words to describe the same experience and the symptoms are of a higher heart rate, sweaty palms, churning stomach. Anxiety is usually perceived as more short-term, whereas stress can last for weeks, months, or even years."

As far as I read this article I really enjoyed myself to read this topic because I have several discoveries that I found like stress are the same to anxiety but others says that is different and connecting to my topic I feel stressed that time because my mind is conscious what side I will believe.

According to the site Calm Clinic written by Ryan Rivera and the article entitled Stress and Anxiety. In this article that I have read it talks about how anxiety and stress came from and how it is different to each other and to others.

"Stress and anxiety are not entirely different conditions. In many ways, anxiety may be considered long term stress, and long term stress may be a component of an anxiety disorder. Their similarities and relationships are some of the reasons that those that experience any one for a long period of time often experience the other for much longer."

Based on my experience stress are common to me like anxiety and I can say that anxiety is a longer period of stress but others say stress is another form or result of anxiety like depression.

Most people experience stress and anxiety from time to time. Stress can be triggered by an event that makes you feel frustrated or nervous. Anxiety is a feeling of fear, worry, or unease. Examples of normal stress and anxiety include worrying about finding a job, feeling nervous before a big test, or being embarrassed in certain social situations. However, if stress and anxiety begin interfering with your daily life, it may indicate a more serious issue. If you are avoiding situations due to irrational fears, constantly worrying, or anxious about a traumatic event weeks after it happened, it may be time to seek help.
