Blogpost 7: Anxiety affects Decision Making

"I made decisions that I regret, and I took them as learning experiences. I'm human, not perfect, like anybody else." by Queen Latifah. In every decision that we do, we must need to think of it carefully before putting of an action to it. All of us want to know what are the affects of anxiety in decision making. It is hard for a person to do his or her decision when anxiety attacks because  there is a trait that a person become not optimistic or putting self down.

In article that I have read entitled Anxiety Affects Decision Making  written by Dr. Elizabeth Phelps and Dr. Catherine Hartley from the website
European Commission . They found out what are the affects of anxiety in decision making and how  it result to a person. It talks about what is the connection or role of anxiety in decision making.

"According to Dr Phelps, their findings underline that science is 'starting to gain some traction by combining emerging decision science with the study of anxiety"

Based on experienced it is really that anxiety afffects decision or decision making because you lose control to think smart or to think naturally. There is a time that during an exam anxiety attack on me and my decision in my exam are not in focus. Focus is the one you lose when you have anxiety. It says there that the overlap in the neural systems underlying anxiety and decision-making provides some insight into how fear and anxiety alters choices.

According to the website Healthy Place written by Tanya Peterson and Anthony D' Aconti entitled Big Decisions. It says that how big decisions do and what are the anxiety therefore. It says also here the feeling when you have a decision and what are the result after doing that.

"The word decision means “to kill” as we are killing the choice not taken. Sometimes we feel grief for what we pass up even though the decision is clear. It is a loss. But it also frees us. Once we make the choice we can now commit to the option we pick. There is no right choice, we pick something and then make it the “right” one. A freedom comes out of it. If any of you has been stuck making a decision, you know what I am talking about."

In this article I learned a lot and it defines what is the literal meaning of a big decision. I learned that every big decisions that we made are setting us free but sometimes it is a loss and I will in this article there is no a right choice we must do something to make it right.

Anxiety about decision making enters when he ruminates over decisions from the past that did not seem to pan out. This regret serves us only to decide differently the next time. Holding onto that guilt just causes self doubt. The point of the guilt is to bring awareness to the next decision. To act.
